David provides a finance director capability for businesses that do not want or cannot afford a full time Finance Director.

David works with SMEs who wish to gain control and understanding of their finances and plan where their business is going. Utilising over 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant and Finance Director, David designs and implements practical solutions to help SMEs develop their strategy, improve their profitability and maximise the cash they have in the bank. In particular David focuses on enhancing business performance through profit improvement and cost reduction programmes, process re-engineering, assessing customer and product profitability, investment appraisal, business and strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and working capital management.

David offers training in finance for non-finance management.

Career Background

David has been Finance Director of businesses in pharmaceuticals, clinical trials management and motor insurance claims industries with both national and pan-European remits.  He has been a Director of a shared service business providing in-house financial support to all business units within the UK.

David started his career as a Chartered Accountant within the London head office of a worldwide ‘Big 4’ practice.  He then moved into commercial finance roles in the food, drink and leisure industry before undertaking Finance Director roles.

Most recently David is a co-founder and director of a consultancy company specialising in helping SMEs manage their finances effectively.

Qualifications & Accreditations

• Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA).
• Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Warwick (BA Hons).
